Back then they didn't want me, now I'm hot they all on me...

It wouldn’t make any sense if there were only leaders in the world. Followers are a necessary evil. But sometimes it is tiring to think of all the people who never seem to be able to formulate their own opinion about something. Unfortunately, many of these people dwell heavily in the music industry. It’s almost as if they are waiting for someone else to co-sign before they can think that a record, idea, campaign, whatever is hot. Meanwhile as creative people we are screaming “Do you like it or not!” on the inside. It’s not that difficult. But folks want to wait until everyone else is on it. It reminds me of when a girl won’t give a guy any play, but as soooon as another chick starts paying that guy attention, they are ALL over it. And this is not in a bitter mindset at all, just an observation. And you might say, well what if someone just doesn’t like something? That is FINE. But most people won’t even say that, it’s like they won’t move one way or the other until someone else does.  A sheep phenomenon. It exists whether or not you want to accept it is your option. In this industry you will come face to face, often to many of the people who flat out told you no. No I don’t believe in you or what you’re doing and I am uninterested. But once you realize that you have to get it poppin yourself … and YOU DO … they come back as if they always knew you had it in you. And some of them will actually say it and at that moment you will want to punch them square in the nose, but in reality you will just smile, nod and hopefully try to find an escape, because you don’t really want to burn a bridge. I mean, don’t take my word for it, it’s reflected in the music. You know how many people told Kanye that he shouldn’t rap???? Enough said.
