So I got to catch up with Ms. Paula Campbell while she was in Philly this week. "Just A Man" was a part of her set and I wanted to share her live performance. She definitely put on for the DMV.

Dope Writers - The Dream

I can't wait until my demos leak ... haha they won't be this good. AT ALL! But The Dream is an amazing talent. I really like what he has been able to do with female artist like Mariah Carey and Beyonce. Unlike Neyo, I feel like he brings more of a male perspective to female records, where Neyo embodies more of the female perspective. Still love Neyo as a writer tho! :-) So here is The Dream's version of 1+1, I'm feeling this record.

Songs that make me wish I wrote them - Best Thing I Never Had

This kid really kills this record! I just think that this has a strong melody. I like the power behind it. Yeah it's another track somewhat man bashing but I like the feeling and emotion that goes with it. Beyonce is digging back into her R&B bag.

Worth a Thousand Words

Occasionally you walk around South Philly and see a home that looks like it's from a completely different place. Should have snapped the pic when I first saw this house and the flowers were in full bloom.

So I heard this from the other room in my office ... and had to go inquire about who this girl was. Unique voice, can't go wrong covering a Mos Def record. Looking forward to hearing some more from Ms. Hruby.
